Setting up XBL at my friends house, his old modem was fucked so we got a new one, we have the coax into the modem all the modem lights are on, ethernet straight from the modem to the xbox but when we do the xbox live connection check it says we're connected to network and internet but can't connect to xbox live because of a router setting issue, the MTU isn't set high enough or something

our connection = wall->modem->xbox
suggested problem = router

Webber's and mine are saying the same thing now but I was able to get on about 20 minutes ago. I think something is just fucked up with XBL.

I disconnected from my router too and used a direct xbox/modem connection...still gave me the same error like Def's.
