Anyone here know a good program to rip DVD's and then convert the files to either .avi or .mp4?
I actually have converter programs, but I don't have a good ripping program, at least not one that will bypass DRM.
Any help?

When I burn DVDs I use Dvdshrink then use the program that came with my burner. If I have files like:avi/wmv/mp4 to burn onto dvd I use Nero.

A program came with your burner? I dk when they started doing that, but I bought my burner in 2005, and it didn't come with any software. I have Nero though.
I don't need help burning cd's, I can do that just fine (though I appreciate the post).
My problem is taking a DVD, then taking the DRM content off of it and converting it to .avi.

This is how I do dvds, I get the "image" of the dvd instead of just the movie.
1 Open dvd shrink
2 Select movie
3 Copy to hdd (10-30 mins)
4 Open RecordNow DX (came with burner)
5 Select the file I just copyied to hdd
6 Burns for about 15-25 mins
7 Win
I also have Nero if I dl movies and want to get movies burned to work with my dvd player, it just sucks it takes 2-4 hours to burn for me..
Hope it helps.
