Interesting depiction of the Proteus alpha. I like it a lot except for the color. From my knowledge a Proteus is a sea god I would've went with blue & green shading.

Why the brownish reddish color?

The tail will actually be greenish scales, the brown was the artist's idea and I liked the darker color motif he showed me than the ordinary one I suggested.

I should warn people that I got the gits tat because I'm a huge nerd and open about it, and I can hide it readily. People want to change the subject as soon as the words "it's from a manga..." come out of my mouth. Unless they also like comics/anime/manga/scifi, then it's a perfect opening.

Also, women love touching colorful ink, mostly without asking. Especially on your arms. Put it where you are ok with women you don't know touching you.

You'd be surprised how many people have em in places not visible. They can just as easily be a private personal thing as a declarative thing. I usually don't wear just a tshirt, so mine are both essentially hidden.

My cousin has two tattoos and he got a nearly perfect score on the SAT, just recently graduated from law school, and is now working for one of the nicest law firms in Austin, Texas. Oh course they are concealable, but unless you are getting sleeves or something ridiculous, tattoos won't affect your chances when it comes to jobs.

Getting this on my left peck tomorrow or Saturday. Going to be almost exactly this size and detail so its going to cost me a bundle but it'll be worth it.

I know either the first thing I get as a tattoo, or the ONLY thing I get tattooed is something my dad drew. My dad's an artist, and I'd rather have something there, instead of some guy I have no connection with to draw something permanent on my body.

In that light, the first thing I know I'm getting is a polar bear my dad drew on my back, probably up near the neck, in between the shoulder-blades, nothing too large. I might get the date in which event the polar bear coincides with under it, I dunno.

Almost died in snow, and all my dad's pieces revolve around animals. Mostly bears actually, but more like brown bears n shit. That and fish. I would really like to get it after hockey season (after you get a tattoo you can't play sports for like, a week), and I don't want to wait till next year.

I'm deciding whether I want the date to go under it. If so, I don't really know any good fonts it would look good in (other than cursive...).

I thought it was awesome at the time and then I realized it's pointless unless you want holes in your ears for the rest of your life. I mean you can probably go up to like size 6 safely, but I didn't feel like risking it.

I don't know the sizes or anything I just wanted to go up to maybe dime sized and stop. Would my ears return to normal when I start taking life seriously if they were that big?

Probably not. Depends on the elasticity and what not of your skin, but the lady at the piercing place said generally you can go up to size 0 without long term holes.
But....that's still questionable. Here's a pic of size 0's

Yea. The main reason why I got it was because of Ganesha's story and what this Deity stands for. If I get any more work done on my back it will be a full blown scene that will go down mid way the backs of my arms and cover my back. I'm really picky with what I do on my back. It was my first tat and I let my artist kind of freestyle it and I love what he's done. Until I can get ahold of him again I'm gonna hold off, I have a sketch book of ideas I would like.

Right now for the holidays I"m looking to get a chest piece or something done on my left side.

It was my first, and the guy that did it is one of the best in the midwest and cut me a deal cuz he knew my dad somehow. I can't get ahold of him either. It's disrespectful to go to another artist and have them work on someone else's spot....if they are respectable they'll refuse to.

Right now over break I have a sketchbook full o stuff but I'm not happy with any of it at least on me. Right now I'm focused on my side or chest with a quote pertaining to my brother.
